Intake Information

Intake and Referral Process

Intake is the process Disability Rights New Mexico uses to gather general information about an individual’s reason for contacting us, along with some demographic information to meet our federal reporting requirements. The information you give us helps us decide what type of assistance we may be able to provide to you.

Disability Rights New Mexico’s main office is in the James Jackson Center for Disability Rights building.  The Center is just east of the traffic light intersection of Juan Tabo Blvd., NE, and Juan Tabo Place, NE, between Comanche and Montgomery.

  • Our services are free and confidential.
  • Each year, DRNM receives more requests for assistance than it have adequate funding and resources to handle. As a result, DRNM cannot provide legal or advocacy representation for every issue that DRNM is requested to review. The matters that DRNM takes on must be consistent with agency priorities. DRNM focuses on issues that have a potential to make systemic change. DRNM prioritizes issues involving people with disabilities who do not have other legal representation. DRNM does not charge clients for its services.
  • Whenever possible, the person with a disability in need of assistance should contact DRNM directly.
  • Please note that contacting DRNM for assistance does not establish an attorney-client relationship with DRNM.
