Intake
Intake and Referral Process
Intake is the process we use to see how we can help you. There are two ways you can start the Intake process:
1) Start an Intake online. Click the “Start an Intake” button above.
2) Call us at (505) 256-3100 or 1-800-432-4682. We are open Monday-Friday from 8:30 a.m.-5:00 p.m.
At Intake, we will ask you for your name, date of birth, disability, home address, phone number, email, and a description of your problem. We may also ask for your household income and if you receive Social Security benefits. (Your income and Social Security status do not determine if we can help you, but we use the information for internal billing purposes). You do not need a determination of disability by Social Security to get our help; our services may be made available to anyone with a disability. Your information always stays confidential and is only made available to our staff.
- Our services are free and confidential.
- Each year, DRNM receives more requests for assistance than it have adequate funding and resources to handle. As a result, DRNM cannot provide legal or advocacy representation for every issue that DRNM is requested to review. The matters that DRNM takes on must be consistent with agency priorities. DRNM focuses on issues that have a potential to make systemic change. DRNM prioritizes issues involving people with disabilities who do not have other legal representation. DRNM does not charge clients for its services.
- Whenever possible, the person with a disability in need of assistance should contact DRNM directly.
- Please note that contacting DRNM for assistance does not establish an attorney-client relationship with DRNM.
