The NM Department of Justice released a sweeping report documenting systemic failures within CYFD, finding that breakdowns in leadership, investigations, and oversight have repeatedly placed children at risk of serious harm. DRNM has long raised these concerns through our involvement in the Kevin S. lawsuit, which seeks to ensure that children in foster care receive safe placements and appropriate services.
